Professional training resources. Sector expertise. 30+ years.

Volunteer Solutions has been developing training resources for the voluntary sector for over 30 years. All packs are written by Kay Curtis, a recognised expert in volunteer management with decades of hands-on UK sector experience.

Our materials are used by Volunteer Centres, CVS organisations, national charities, NHS trusts, housing associations, and small local groups across the UK and internationally.

Unlike generic corporate training adapted for charities, everything we produce is written specifically for the voluntary sector — the language, the scenarios, the legal frameworks, and the challenges are all yours.

“Volunteer Solutions has spent over 30 years developing training resources specifically for the UK voluntary sector — not adapted from corporate training, but written from the ground up for organisations like yours. We have done all the preparation so that you do not have to.

Exceptional Value

At £295/year, the full library works out at less than £6 per resource. A single external trainer for a half-day costs £400–£800. One licence. Unlimited use. Your whole organisation covered.

Without the right training, volunteers can never reach their potential.

We are passionate about volunteering and the incredible benefits it brings to communities and organisations. We have seen through decades of work how the right training can make a real and lasting difference.

Training provides volunteers with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their roles effectively — so they can confidently contribute and make a meaningful impact.

💕 Volunteers are amazing.
They enable amazing things to happen.
But without the right training they can never reach their potential.

This is where we can help.

🎯

Clarity and Confidence

Training clarifies expectations, roles, and responsibilities, reducing confusion and empowering volunteers to take ownership of their tasks. It fosters a sense of purpose and belonging.

Risk Management

Training on safety protocols, organisational policies, and ethical considerations minimises potential risks and protects both the volunteer and the organisation from legal exposure.

Consistency and Quality

Training ensures volunteers adhere to established procedures and standards, leading to consistent service delivery and maintaining the quality of programmes and services.

🎉

Empowerment and Growth

Training provides opportunities for skill development and personal growth, enhancing volunteer satisfaction and encouraging long-term engagement with your organisation.

Built by practitioners, for practitioners — over 30 years in the making.

A simple belief: that every volunteer-involving organisation deserves access to professional, legally current training — regardless of size or budget.

Volunteer Solutions was founded on a simple belief: that every volunteer-involving organisation deserves access to professional, legally current training — regardless of size or budget.

The original training resources were developed by Kay Curtis, a specialist in volunteer management with over 30 years of direct sector experience. Every pack was written from the perspective of someone who had actually delivered the training, worked with coordinators, and understood the legal and practical pressures facing voluntary organisations.

What made the library distinctive from the start was its completeness. Rather than selling isolated topic packs, Kay designed a coherent, structured programme that follows the entire volunteer journey — from before the first volunteer arrives through to long-term development and coordinator CPD.

The 2026 library is the most comprehensive version yet. Every pack has been reviewed, updated for current legislation, and — where needed — completely rebuilt. The format has been standardised across the entire library. And the whole programme is now available at a price that puts it within reach of every organisation.

The mission has not changed:
professional volunteer training, done for you,
at a price that respects the reality of voluntary sector budgets.

Kay Curtis

Founder & Author  ·  Volunteer Solutions

Kay Curtis is a specialist in volunteer management with over 30 years of direct sector experience. Every pack in the library was written by Kay — not anonymous agency content, not AI-generated text, but real expertise from someone who has actually delivered the training, worked with volunteer coordinators, and navigated the legal and practical pressures facing UK voluntary organisations.

Kay designed the library as a coherent, structured programme from the outset — understanding that volunteer-involving organisations needed a complete system, not a collection of isolated packs. That philosophy remains at the heart of everything Volunteer Solutions produces.

All new content is developed to Kay’s standards, completing her planned and partially developed work, and reviewed against current sector guidance and legislation before publication.

Three principles that have never changed

01

Accessible Quality

Professional training resources should be within reach of every voluntary sector organisation — not just those with large budgets. At £295/year for everything, we mean it.

02

Always Current

The legal and practice landscape changes constantly. We keep the library updated throughout your licence year so you never have to worry about whether your training is compliant.

03

Sector-Specific

Volunteers are not employees. Their world — and the organisations that involve them — deserves training built for their unique context, not adapted from corporate programmes.
